About us

Templemore Band is a brass band based in Dundonald, St.Elizabeth Church halls. From playing in the parks of Greater Belfast, to competitively contesting - Templemore Brass Band has a place for everybody!

From school children with an interest in music looking to learn an instrument from our experienced members, to players who have their instrument at home gathering dust, looking to do something worthwhile with it and get involved with the wider community.

History

The Templemore Band was formed in 1949 as a primary school band in East Belfast under the direction of Alfie Bell. Soon competing at the very top of the contest scene they were the first band to perform at the inaugural European Braass Band Championships at the Albert Hall, London in 1979. At home, Templemore dominated the local arena for many years winning the NIBA competition an unequaled fifteen times, including an unprecedented double hat trick of first prizes in the NIBA and Brass Band League competitions.
